Today Web Wiz are pleased to announce the completion of our on-site PV Solar Array that will generate electricity to power both our Eco Data Centre and our Office. Our PV Solar Array consists of 50 high efficient German made Hanwha Q.Cell Solar Panels able to produce 305 Wp each. To increase the performance further a SolarEdge system has been fitted that uses Power Optimisers on each Solar Panel coupled with a SolarEdge Inverter allowing each Panel to work independently increasing the amount of power generated by up to 25%. Our Solar Panel Array can provide 7 times more power on a sunny day than is used by our Facility and over a year will produce 80% of the electricity we use in our Data Centre and Office. Being in the UK sunshine is rather limited especially during the winter months, so we are unable to have a 100% Solar Powered Data Centre, therefore there will be times when we will need to use Utility Power. For carbon emissions from the use of Utility Power, we have since 2010 partnered with The World Land Trust through their Carbon Balanced Projects to off-set all our carbon emissions. |

Web Wiz Opens New Eco Data Centre17 May 2018, in Web Wiz News, Eco Data Centre Web Wiz is pleased to announce the opening of our new 1,800 sq. ft. Eco Data Centre facility in Poole, Bournemouth, Dorset on the South Coast of the UK. The location of the purpose-built Data Centre was selected as it situated on the highest point in Poole to reduce the risk of flooding.
Green energy efficiency was at the heart of our new Eco Data Centre design, with Generators powered by Natural Gas rather than Diesel and A++ rated Heat Exchangers to keep the Data Hall cool. We understand that to our customers' service outages are a major concern that is why we have two diverse Fibre Connections coming into the building at opposite sides, one from BT OpenReach and the other from Virgin Media.
Over the next couple of months, we will be migrating our Equipment and Servers co-located at 3rd Party Data Centres over to our new Eco Data Centre.

New Web Wiz Head Office01 December 2017, in Web Wiz News We have now moved into our new Head Offices at Unit 18, The Glenmore Centre, Fancy Road, Poole, Dorset, UK.
Last May Web Wiz Ltd purchased a new industrial unit in Poole, Dorset, UK, with the aim to build purpose-built Offices on the 1st Floor and Data Centre on the Ground Floor. The building project is to be carried out in stages with the 1st Stage being to build new Offices, Server Build Room/Lab, Network Operations Centre (NOC) and Storage.
The 2nd Stage is to build our new Data Centre with Server Room, Switching Gear, UPS, Air Conditioning and Green LPG Backup Generators, and Solar Panels. We are pleased to announce that the 1st Stage is now completed and we have now moved into our new purpose built 1st Floor Offices. In the new year, we will be moving on to the 2nd Stage of the Build Project, the construction of our new Data Centre on the Ground Floor.

Announcing Our New Hyper-V Servers15 February 2017 - Posted by Web Wiz Customer Care Team, in Web Wiz News, Hosting Services Web Wiz is pleased to announce that we have recently completed our £80,000 ($105,000) upgrade replacing all our Hyper-V Servers for our Shared Hosting and Cloud Server Customers to provide Customers with the best possible performance and uptime.
We build our own servers in-house using the latest SuperMicro and Intel parts that we have found 100% reliable over the last 8 years since we switched to building servers ourselves. By building our own Servers we have complete control over the quality and testing of servers within our own purpose-built lab, building each server to the task required. This allows us to build more power efficient green servers rather than using general purpose off the shelf servers. It also allows us to have spare parts in stock for every eventuality allowing us to quickly swap out any failed parts within minutes rather than waiting for manufactures next day engineer support that once they diagnose the problem can take weeks to return with the replacement parts. 
Our new Hyper-V 2016 Servers are built using the latest SuperMicro Motherboards and Chassis, these are paired with the latest Intel Xeon Server CPU’s and DDR4 ECC Server Memory. Storage for our new Hyper-V Servers uses next-generation NVMe Data Centre Solid State Drives which use the PCIe bus to give 5 times the read and write performance of SATA Solid State Drives that we previously used. In case things do go wrong with our Hyper-V 2016 Servers we use replication to mirror Servers every 30 seconds to redundant Hyper-V Servers of the same spec and performance allowing very fast recovery of Services in the event of hardware failure.
