Web Wiz Celebrates 20th Anniversary03 September 2021, in Web Wiz News Today, the 3rd September 2021, Web Wiz is 20 years old! In 2001, Bruce Corkhill founded Web Wiz while studying computing at Bournemouth University. Web Wiz was initially launched as Web Wiz Guide (www.webwizguide.com) on 3rd September 2001, offering a range of Web Applications written by Bruce along with Web Hosting Services. We mainly focused on producing Web Applications during the first five years but found that many web hosts were not up to hosting database-driven web applications. Our web hosting soon became very popular through word-of-mouth, and our reputation for fast and reliable web hosting developed. We still rely on word-of-mouth today as we continue to grow. While we have always strived to provide green hosting solutions and support conservation charities, the data centres that we were using did not share our ethics. To address this, we opened our own eco-friendly Data Centre in 2018 powered by on-site solar power generation and Tesla battery storage. We are now one of the most sustainable web hosting providers globally. As we celebrate the 20th anniversary at Web Wiz, we all feel proud of what we have accomplished, and we are excited about the next 20 years. We want to thank each of our 10,000 customers who have been with us on this journey, we do appreciate it, and we look forward to serving you for many years to come.
